The Mets Resurgence

By Jacob Yohe,

The Mets were six games out of the Wild Card on July 20th and thirteen games out of first place in the division. No one would have ever expected that with their “up and down” season, that they would go on a streak that would put them right back in it all. The Mets are now 4 games above .500 and 2 games out of the Wild Card. It’s been a really unique season so far, the offense is there, pitching hasn’t always been but has come on lately.

It’s been a ton of fun to watch the Polar Bear hit 40 home runs this season so far and pass the National League rookie record. It was also very exciting to see the Mets stand pat at the trade deadline, showing that ownership cares to make a run at this thing. The pieces we have in place is a nice combination of our good young players with a mix of veterans. They have come together and have fought for the city of New York.

We have a group of guys in that clubhouse that believe in each other and that’s what we need. This team has the chance of being something special, they just have to continue believing. As all of us say, “Ya Gotta Believe!”.
