Mets 2019 Draft Update: Brett Baty

New York Mets first round and 12th overall pick of the MLB June Amateur Draft has definitely seen struggles after his promotion from the Gulf Coast League to the Appalachian League. Baty spent five games in the Gulf Coast League batting .350/.480/.650/1.130 with three doubles, one home run, and eight RBI’s in 25 plate appearances.

Since the move to the Appalachian League, Baty played in 34 games while hitting 10 doubles, five home runs, driving in 19 RBI’s in 148 plate appearances. Between both leagues, the Texas born third baseman is batting .212/.335/.438/.774 with 13 doubles, six home runs while driving in 27 RBI’s in 146 at-bats.
