The New York Mets and Atlanta Braves will cap off their three-game series while the Orange & Blue try to avoid getting swept at SunTrust Park on Thursday.
On the bump for the Mets is recently acquired pitcher Marcus Stroman, who has a 6.10 ERA in his two starts since joining the Mets, however it seems like that he’s been pitching better than his numbers have been suggesting.
Overall on the year, Stroman is 6-11 while pitching to a 3.20 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP, as well as striking out 111 batters in 135.0 innings pitched.
Julio Teheran will take the hill for the Braves and while Teheran has usually been pretty decent against the Orange & Blue, this year he’s already given up nine runs in just 13.1 innings in three starts against the Mets.
Teheran is 7-7 with a 3.35 ERA, a 1.28 WHIP and also struck out 126 batters in 137.0 innings pitched. However, he’s also been pitching more effectively as of recent as he has recorded a quality start in five of his last seven starts.
This should be an excellent matchup between Marcus Stroman and Julio Teheran.
