Mickey Callaway on Noah Syndergaard

New York Mets manager Mickey Callaway fielded some questions before tonight’s matchup against the Washington Nationals and was asked about Syndergaard having a personal catcher.

The manager replied by saying “When Noah is Noah, it doesn’t matter who’s catching him, it’s very similar to deGrom. We got deGrom on a little bit of a roll with the aid of Nido at the time and it’s more something that’s in the back of their mind at that point, and then when they get on a roll, it doesn’t matter who catches them.”

Mickey added, “He understands that all he has to do is go out there and do what Noah Syndergaard can do and anybody can sit back there and catch him.”
