After sweeping the double header against the Miami Marlins on Monday, the New York Mets will look to take another Miami as they head into this contest 11-1 in their last 12 games. The Mets have also now put themselves above .500 while only being 2.5 games behind the second Wild Card slot.

While Jeff McNeil was removed from the second game due to cramping in his right calf, he’s fully expected to be in today’s lineup. McNeil has 8 hits in his last 23 at-bats, giving him a .348 batting average in his last 15 games, 3 of those 8 hits have gone for home runs.

Mets starter Zack Wheeler has beaten the Marlins on May 10th and will look to repeat his performance. Overall, Wheeler is 8-6 with a 4.45 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, to go alongside 144 strikeouts in 131.1 innings pitched. However, Wheeler has been better in his last seven games as he’s been pitching to a 3.59 ERA over 42.2 innings while also picking up three wins.

The Miami Marlins will send rookie Jordan Yamamoto to the hill to try and tame the Mets as they square off for the first time in his career. Yamamoto is 4-2 with a 3.94 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP as well as accruing 49 strikeouts in 48 innings pitched. However, Yamamoto hasn’t been pitching as well as of late, the right hander is 2-2 with an ERA of 5.56 over his last seven games.
