Tuesday Night Matchup: Mets vs White Sox

Will this be the last time Noah Syndergaard suits up for the New York Mets and takes the hill, my guess is no but anything can happen. Syndergaard and the Mets travel over to Chicago to take on the White Sox in a three-game series.

Noah Syndergaard is currently 7-5 with a 4.33 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP, as well as 126 strikeouts in 126.1 innings pitched during this 2019 campaign. However, Syndergaard is 4-1 with a 3.43 ERA while striking out 45 in last last seven starts.

Former prized Washington Nationals prospect Reynoldo Lopez will take the bump for the White Sox at home at Guaranteed Rate Field. Lopez had a rough first half but has pitched to a 1.71 ERA since the All-Star break.

Overall, Lopez is 5-9 with a 5.52 ERA, a 1.45 WHIP while striking out 111 in 119.0 innings pitched.

It’ll be interesting to watch a Yoan Moncada and Tim Anderson take on Syndergaard, both infielders have been see the ball well. Moncada, whose been playing third for the Sox has been hitting .296/.321/.704 with three home runs and seven RBI’s over his last seven games.

The 26-year old shortstop Tim Anderson has been hitting .333/.333/.533 with one home runs and five RBI’s over his last seven.

Mets outfielder Michael Conforto has been crushing the ball lately, the Oregon State product has hit 3 home runs in his last seven games while driving in six. This matchup against Lopez should favor Conforto and may end up being a nice pick on your favorite DFS site.

It’s hard not to acknowledge J.D. Davis and the tear he’s been on, the 26-year old right hander has been hitting .524/.583/.810 over his last seven games. It’s likely that we will see Davis in the D.H. role while on the road against an American League team.

This series is important for the Mets due to the White Sox being a sub-par team and had gon 4-6 in their last 10 games while the Mets have been turning it around, going 6-4 in their last 10.
