Buster Olney is reporting that the Boston Red Sox May have some interest in Mets closer Edwin Diaz. It was recently reported that there were four other teams that could potentially be in on the hunt, the Red Sox will now throw their name in the mix of things.

The potential return could be third baseman Bobby Dalbac or possibly even 2018 first round pick and also third baseman Tristan Casas.

With team control till 2022, the Mets asking price for Diaz will likely be extremely high but BVW and the front office has the right to dictate his value on the trade market.
