Buster Olney is reporting something a little different from what we’ve been hearing recently. A lot of writers are reporting that the price to acquire Syndergaard is pretty much set at an impossible high, understandably so.
However, Olney is reporting that the Mets are doing much more than just listening to offers, but they fully intend to trade the Texas born right hander before the July 31st deadline.
It’s no surprise that crazy rumors would swirl around the circuit around this time of the year, but keep in mind Olney has always been a pretty good source. All that being said, I don’t see a move involving Syndergaard happening but that very well could be wishful thinking.
