After a great game that went deep into extra innings on Thursday night, the Mets and Giants will have to lace up and square off again tonight.

The Mets will send the defending N.L. Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom to the bump on Friday. In his last 10 starts, deGrom is sporting a 2.57 ERA with a total of 77 strikeouts during that stretch.

Overall, deGrom owns a 5-7 record with an ERA of 3.21, a 1.12 WHIP, and 144 strikeouts over 115.0 innings pitched.

The Mets beat up on Giants pitcher Tyler Beede on June 5th at Citi Field, in which he gave up six runs in a 7-0 loss.

Beede is the owner of a 3-3 record, 5.44 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, with 50 strikeouts in only 51.1 innings.

After a 16 inning contest last night, the Mets will need deGrom to go the distance if possible. If not, it could be an ugly night, however, that goes for both clubs. The Mets have the obvious edge in the match-up, now it’s time to take advantage.
