Mets manager Mickey Callaway was on WFAN and while speaking with Mike Francesa the manager was asked “Where is this team right now?”
Callaway said “We’re in a tough spot. It’s gonna take a miracle… I’ve seen miracles before”
Callaway then went to speak about it being the 50-year anniversary of the ’69 “Miracle Mets”, in which how they made an almost impossible comeback to eventually win the World Series.
He also added “We’re optimistic we can get this thing going.”
I don’t know if he’s talking about himself at this point because I know I’d be most optimistic about Callaway going and possibly opening a door for Joe Girardi.
