The Mets have their reigning Cy Young Award winner hitting the hill tonight against the Braves back home at Citi Field. Jacob deGrom has started 16 games and is sporting a 4-6 record with a 3.25 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 121 strikeouts in 97.0 innings pitched.
Over his last seven starts however, deGrom has a 2.40 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched. Jacob seems to be back where he wants to be pitching wise, now again, he just needs the support from the 24 guys around him.
Mike Soroka has been lights out for Atlanta Braves this year, however he’s coming off of a start in which he was removed from the game, due to being hit by a pitch on his right forearm. The rookie right hander is 8-1 with a 2.07 ERA , 0.97 WHIP and 63 strikeouts in 78.1 innings pitched and 13 starts.
