Anthony DiComo is reporting that the Mets will call up pitcher Chris Mazza, who’s been pitching well with Triple-A Syracuse. The Mets selected Mazza in the Minor League portion of the Rule 5 Draft and is currently pitching to a 3.67 ERA in 8 starts.

Mazza, a 29-year old rookie said he was holding back tears as he learned of his promotion to the Major League ball club.

Walker Lockett will be catching a bus back to Syracuse and the team has announced that they’d DFA’d Ryan O’Rourke.
