Zack Wheeler will take the mound Saturday afternoon, the third game of a four-game set, and look to at least split the series with the Cubs in Chicago. On MLB.com, it says that Wheeler is acknowledging the trade rumors surrounding him in his final year of his contract.
I’m just hoping that he keeps his head in these games he’s pitching in because as of right now, he’s still with the New York Mets and that’s the only team he should be thinking of. Wheeler has a 5-5 record with a 4.94 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 103 strikeouts in 15 starts and 94.2 innings pitched. He’s been 2-3 in his last 7 games with a 5.60 ERA.
Jose Quintana will try and do the same for the Cubs, the veteran lefty is coming off of a decent start against the Dodgers and will try to improve his luck this time around against the Orange & Blue.
Quintana has a 3.87 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, with 72 strikeouts in 83.2 innings pitched and holds a 4-6 record. He’s 0-4 in his last seven starts.
