Both New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves will send a lefty to the hill to try and secure the series victory. The Mets will send one of their more consistent pitchers to the mound in Steven Matz. In fact, Matz has pitched exactly six innings in each one of his last five outings, owning a 3.90 ERA and 34 strikeouts over a 30 inning stretch.
Overall, the 26 year old Matz is currently 5-4 with a 3.93 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 72 strikeouts throughout 68.2 innings pitched and 13 starts.
The Braves will send a struggling Max Fried to the bump, over his past four starts, Fried has an ERA of 7.52 and is allowing opponents to reach base at a .418 clip. Overall, the lefty is 7-3 with a 4.11 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, with 70 strikeouts in 76.2 innings pitched and 16 starts.
