The Mets might just be coming off of their worst loss of the season last night when closer Edwin Diaz gave up 4 runs in the 9th. Tonight, the Mets will send Jason Vargas to the hill in order to secure the split series against the Dodgers. He returned from the Injured List last Saturday and pitched 5 innings while only allowing 1 run. In his last 5 starts, he’s allowed one-run in 4 of them, leaving him with a 2.74 ERA that dates back to April.

Hyun-Jin Ryu has been absolutely spot on for the Dodgers, owning a 1.65 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 62 strikeouts, and an impressive 7-1 win/loss record in 65.1 innings. Over his career, he owns a 47-29 record with 3.03 ERA.
