Todd Frazier and Adam Eaton were separated today. This comes as a surprise as both veterans spent time together with the Chicago White Sox.
Last August a slide from Eaton injured infielder Phillip Evans and upset the Mets, and Frazier apparently told his former clubhouse-mate as much on the field the next day. Eaton was later seen reciprocating that animosity.
“When he usually talks or chirps, usually he says it just loud enough that you can hear him but you can’t understand him,” Eaton told reporters afterward. “So I’ll just leave it at that.”
“I don’t know what the deal is”, said Eaton. “He’s always yelling across the infield at me, he’s making a habit of it”
“I’m a 30 year old man with 2 kids, I got a mortgage and everything…I try to stay patient with the childishness”, Eaton said of the drama.
It remains unclear what led to the latest disagreement between Frazier and Eaton, but further details will likely be disclosed during postgame interviews with the media .
“It’s nothing,” Frazier said after the game. “Nothing at all.”
