MetsJunkies Saturday Night Recap

Matz gave up 6 hits and 2 runs in his return while only pitching 3.2 innings.

Tyler Bashlor pitched 1.1 innings, striking out two and lowering his ERA to 1.17 on the year. The right hander is really making his case to become a fixture in that bullpen.

Jeff McNeil reached base twice, going 1-3 and reaching on a walk. McNeil is now batting .351 in 42 games.

Robert Gsellman turned in a 1-2-3 sixth inning and scoreless seventh, lowering his ERA to 2.63.

Edwin Diaz pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning, striking out one and lowering his ERA to 2.16.


Syracuse Mets

Syracuse Mets starter Chris Flexen pitched 6 innings, giving up two runs while striking out 9. Flexen now has 45 strikeouts in 30.1 innings pitched.

My main man Dilson Herrera hit a 3-run home run, his 7th of the season. The infielder is batting .270 with a .920 OPS.

Luis Guillorme went 2-4 with a run scored, Guillorme is hitting .286 with an OPS of .797.

Left handed reliever Ryan O’Rourke pitched a scoreless inning, lowering his ERA to 3.20 with 17 strikeouts in 19.2 innings pitched.


Binghamton Rumble Ponies

Pitcher Mickey Jannis went seven innings, giving up an unearned run on 5 hits, 3 walks, while striking out 5. Jannis has yet to give up an earned run in 14.0 pitched, leaving him with a 0.00 ERA with the Rumble Ponies.

Reliever Ryley Gilliam pitched 2 scoreless innings while striking out 3. The righty has now lowered his ERA to 1.80.


St. Lucie Mets

Second baseman Carlos Cortes went 3-4 with 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored. The infielder is batting .264/ .326/ .411/ .737 with 3 home runs and 20 RBI’s.

Outfielder Quinn Brodey went 1-5, hitting his third home run of the a year, a 3-run shot.


Columbia Fireflies

Mets phenom prospect Ronny Mauricio went 4-5 while hitting his first home run of the season, a 2-run shot.

Third baseman Mark Vientos hit a long ball of his own, also a 2-run shot. He finished the night going 1-4.

Outfielder Gerson Molina had a good game going 2-4. This is his first taste of professional ball and he’s hitting .263/ .364/ .553/ .917 with 3 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs, 7 RBI’s and runs scored in 38 at-bats.
