After a tough couple of losses out in the nations capital, the Mets fly down to Miami to take on the Marlins in a 3-game set. The Mets will have a familiar face join them for about a couple of week, probably longer, with the return of Carlos Gomez. Gomez was of course apart of the trade that brought Johan Santana to the Mets from the Twins.
Jacob deGrom will take the hill in the first game of the series, degrom owns a 3-4 win/loss record and a 3.26 ERA. In the month of May, he’s pitched 21 innings and has a 1.29 ERA, 21 strikeouts and just 4 walks, while opponents are hitting a meek .162 off of him in the span of those 3 starts.
The Marlins will send Trevor Richards to the mound in hopes to get his first W of the season. Richards is making his ninth start and has 0-5 record with an ERA of 4.46. Richards is a pitcher that relies heavily on his change up, as he throws it 35% of the time.
