Brodie Van Wagenen talks Broxton

Deesha Thosar of “The Daily News” asked Brodie if he had any regret with trading for Broxton and he replied “I don’t think there’s any regret because our focus was to make decisions based on the needs of the club at that particular time… Unfortunately for both sides, this one didn’t quite work out.”

He then added, “When we made the decision to trade for Keon, we were looking for a defense-first outfielder who had versatility to play multiple positions. Lagares was out for a whole year, we hadn’t seen him play, he’d suffered through injuries. We wanted to make sure we had coverage.”
