Takeaways from Tuesday’s game vs Nationals

So, I really believe the Mets are about to turn it around and have a great summer but here’s what happened tonight vs the Nationals…

Wilson Ramos dropped down and took a Jeremy Hellickson circle change up over the left field wall for a Grand Slam to put the Mets up by 4 in the first inning. The home run is “The Buffalo’s” second home run of the year.

Amed Rosario is seeing the ball well as he got on base 3 times. The shortstop put together a multi-hit game by going 2-4 and is now batting .284

Brandon Nimmo hit a double over Victor Robles’ head in centerfield to drive in a run in the 6th.

Noah Syndergaard pitched 8 innings, giving up 4 hits, 2 runs, and a walk while striking out 6. Syndergaard has now lowered his ERA to 4.74 on the year.

Dom Smith came off the bench and crushed a pinch hit home run in Syndergaard’s spot in the order. The home run is Smith’s first of the 2019 campaign.

Seth Lugo closed the game by pitching a scoreless inning, lowering the right handers ERA to 2.88.

The Mets take the first game of the series against the Nationals as Wilmer Font (1-0, 5.50 ERA) will take the bump for the Mets tomorrow evening while D.C. sends Patrick Corbin (3-1, 3.20 ERA) to the mound. The game starts at 7:05 PM.
