Takeaways from Saturday’s game vs Brewers

  • Jeff McNeil is an absolute hitting machine. McNeil logged in another multi-hit game, going 2-4 with 2 runs scored. The sophomore super utility man is now hitting .371 while continuing to play multiple positions.
  • Pete Alonso seemed to be in a bit of a funk but it looks like he’s snapping out of it. The rookie stud hit a 3-run home run and went 3-5 on the night.
  • Brandon Nimmo picked up a multi-hit game tonight, the outfielder went 3-4
  • Amed Rosario homered in the 7th and drove in another run in the 8th with an RBI single to cut the lead to 8-6. Rosario would finish the evening going 2-4 with a run scored and two RBI’s.
  • Edwin Diaz pitched another 1-2-3 inning in which the closer struck out the side.

Steven Matz will hit the bump and try and at least get 1 win during this series vs the Brewers. Milwaukee will send the recently signed Gio Gonzalez to the mound. As most Mets fans are aware, the team has showed interest in Gonzalez before he opted to sign with the Brewers.
