Takeaways from Wednesday’s game vs Phillies

Jeff McNeil, again, had a multi hit game. Two infield singles. McNeil ended up going 2-4 and raised his batting average to .424, which is good for second in the National League.

Canó hit the ball hard in his at-bats, unfortunately he didn’t have a hit to show for the solid contact. He went 0-3 on the afternoon and was also hit by a pitch.

Michael Conforto hustled out an infield hit, stole a base, and hit a home run off of Jake Arrieta. This is how you build up an MVP season. He finished the game going 2-4 and is batting .324.

Dom Smith has been absolutely great off of the bench, he fought off a walk.

Wheeler pitched a quality game. 7 innings pitched, 5 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. He lowered his ERA to 6.35.

Justin Wilson came on to pitch a 1-2-3 inning, including striking out Bryce Harper in the 8th. His ERA is now 3.24 on the season.
