Mets acquire J.D. Davis

The Mets and Astros pulled off a five player trade on Sunday morning. The Mets will acquire infielder/outfielder J.D. Davis and infielder Cody Bohanek from the Astros while the Mets send over three minor leaguers to Houston.

Houston will receive second baseman Luis Santana, outfielder Ross Adolph, and catcher Scott Manea.

J.D. Davis was ranked amongst the Astros “Top 15 Prospects” prior to the 2017 campaign. MLB executives, scouts, and coaches believe that J.D. Davis still has a plethora of potential just waiting to be tapped into.

Mike Puma Tweeted this:

MLB talent evaluator on J.D. Davis: “Good FB can beat him but good off speed hitter. Good power. Has some swing and miss, can get a little long at times. Adequate defensively, maybe a step short. Great arm.

Great young man that deserves an opportunity.”
