The Mets and Adam Jones have had “discussions”

Nope, the Mets didn’t sign the one time elite centerfielder however during the Winter Meetings in Las Vegas, but Mets officials have had discussions with the former Baltimore Orioles centerfielder.

Mike Puma reported earlier that the two sides had come together for a meeting, however that information has turned out to be false.

Jones has been declining for about the last 4-5 seasons or so, the Mets may be better off looking elsewhere. A.J. Pollock is still a target and MLBTR predicts he’ll sign with the Mets for $75M over the course of five years.
