David Wright comes off the bench vs Marlins

In the bottom of the 5th inning, Callaway inserted David Wright into go the game as a pitch hitter. Wright hasn’t appeared at the dish since May 27, 2016.

David Write has undergone back, neck, & shoulder surgeries & then was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis, a degenerative back condition in 2005.

Prior to the game, Callaway stated:

“We obviously missed him for the last couple of years” , “And as missed him this year — his leadership, his ability to go out there and play”

In his plate appearance on Friday evening, Wright would ground out to Marlins rookie 3rd baseman Brian Anderson.

The Mets will start David Wright at third base on Sunday & Callaway plans to give David Wright at least two plate appearances. Wright will be starting at third & his long time teammate Jose Reyes will start just to the left of him at third base.

Callaway told the media about Wright that;

“He’s very excited. I know one of the most important things to him is getting out in front of the fans again, and especially his two daughters. So he’s really excited about that”

According to Callaway, David will not appear in Sunday’s game in any capacity. Good luck captain.

Wright has always been an extremely vital part to the Mets teams and fans since him being being called up to New York. When healthy, he was the kind of player that would give 150% & leave it all out on the diamond. RE5PECT
